PJT Coach Biographies - Marian Caves

Sports: I grew up enjoying competitive athletics and swimming.  My other interests are mountain biking, windsurfing, white water kayaking and skiing.

Interest in Triathlon: As a kid, I competed for Scotland at cross-country and swam competitively at national level. Triathlon wasn’t an option available for me back then but I’m sure I would have loved the sport. I enjoy the varied training with the three different disciplines and the fun that triathlon as a multisport can bring.

Major Events competed in: My first ever triathlon was the NYD triathlon 15 years ago! Since then I have had 3 kids, dabbled with all sorts of different triathlon/duathlon/ tri relay races; and qualified as a UKCC Level 2 triathlon coach and a UKCC Level 2 swim teacher.

Why do you coach?: I find it really rewarding seeing athletes further their potential; overcome obstacles; gain confidence and grow in self belief.

Long term personal and club goals: To see all our junior athletes flourish as individuals and achieve their personal goals. To install a love for the sport that will keep them fit and healthy for years to come.
